I have been asked this question many, many times. And there is really no one good answer to this because each person who asks comes from different backgrounds, thus, experience different circumstances to which the question was raised. However, I can say this. Good math students have many different characteristics and variety of study habits. But they also do have many commonalities amongst many of which make them a good students. These are some examples of those common habits or good practices, but definitely not limited to only these.

  1. They question everything
  2. They are naturally curious
  3. They are not afraid to make mistakes and try new things
  4. They ask for help
  5. They enjoy working in group
  6. They appreciate struggles and challenges
  7. They do their own research
  8. They enjoy puzzles, logics, and problem solving
  9. They don't give up
  10. They always do their homework
